Capel Primary School students got to dance the afternoon away, eat some delicious food and play games at the school disco. Students had to come dressed as what they wanted to be when they grew up. There were prizes for the best costumes for both the junior and senior school. A fun time was had by all.
Recently Capel Primary School underwent a Independent School Review and received many commendations about the positive learning environment. You can read the full review here.
Capel Primary School and Manjimup District High School are raising funds to donate to their sister school in Bali to purchase sports equipment. So a fun day was had by all last week when the children dressed in red and white and competed in cracker eating competitions. Crackers were suspended on threads and children had to eat them without touching them with their hands - very tricky! Capel Primary School raised $206.50; a good effort towards the $750 goal. It was a bit of a damp and chilly morning, but that didn't stop lots of students walking to school. It was really good to see that quite a few of them had rain jackets or umbrellas. Roll on spring!
Congratulations to our new captains and vice-captains for Semester Two. They do a very important job assisting Ms Webb by keeping our considerable volume of sports equipment in order in the sports shed.
Room 14 and 15 students and their parents planted native seedlings on the school oval bush area today.
We are pleased to introduce our new councillors for Semester Two. Congratulations to Callum, Hayley, Eliza, Tayla, Chloe and Mackenzie.
'Rick the Rock' the West Coast Eagles club mascot, got the students off to a rowdy start when he visited the school recently. The students were reminded of the importance of eating, sleeping, exercising and drinking water to stay strong, healthy and resilient. Year 6 students then attended a leadership talk while Room 12 students had fun doing footy drills on the oval. Go the Eagles!
What a camp! Flying fox, 'Search and Rescue', the Maritime Museum, the beach and Fremantle boat harbour, SciTech, Fremantle Prison - night and day visits, Go Karting, ice skating, 'Bounce' trampolining, ten pin bowling and lots of food! Happy students and staff enjoyed a fantastic jam-packed four days.
