Students got the chance to explore the fascinating world of Forensic Science by becoming Investigators and solving a crime. Forget TV myths, it is time to see how it really happens.
The gold has been stolen and a Security Guard assaulted… but where is the loot and who was the attacker? Forensic Science has the answers! Students got to analyse the crime scene and interpret the evidence including UV detection, creating impression clues, fingerprint recording, digital microscopy, DNA modelling, code cracking and chemical testing. Students, teachers and parents took to the footpaths to walk to school from all areas of Capel. There was a lot of talking, walking and laughing and it proved to be a lovely morning to be out a about.
The year 6 students got to go to Perth to stay at Woodmans Point. They got to take part in four days of fun visits, activities and exciting encounters. Many students returned in need of some sleep, but it was agreed that the camp was a great success and some students ate enough pizza to last them a very long time.
Bug Cub is nature based play in our natural bush environment. All students have an opportunity to experience bug club and be creative, playing with natural materials in our lovely bush land.
Students from Rooms 1, 2, 3 & 4 were visited by Gold Coast Triathlete, Katey Gibb, on Friday 5th May.
Capel Primary School students got to dance the afternoon away, eat some delicious food and play games at the school disco. Students had to come dressed as what they wanted to be when they grew up. There were prizes for the best costumes for both the junior and senior school. A fun time was had by all. |
